1st May 2022 Classics Ride
Arriving Café Cerino at about 9:30am after topping up the Zed in preparation for a nice day’s ride, we had 13 bikes and riders, 11 of which were coming on the ride……. then ………. everything changed…..
Our mate Janis became a little unwell, and needed medical attention, an ambulance was called and he was whisked away to Western General Hospital for some checks.
I must say it was great to see how well our attending club members controlled the situation and ensured that one of our own was well looked after and received appropriate care and attention.
We also made sure his bike was delivered home.
It wasn’t until we had made sure Janis was in good hands that any suggestions for the days ride was discussed, now being 11:20am it was decided to do a short ride to the ever popular Werribee South.
Taking in Williamstown back and front beaches, Altona beach, Sanctuary Lakes then onto Werribee South where we stopped at the Anglers Anchorage takeaway for a bit of lunch and a review of the day’s events so far.
At Café Cerino we saw….. Russell D, Janis O, Goff M, Vic M, Rick S, Jeff C, Bill M, Peter, Greg H, Andrew F, Andrew P, John W, Ken W.
Those that went on the ride and lunch at Werribee South……Russell D Velocette, Goff M Guzzy, Vic M Triumph, Rick S Ducati , Jeff C Suzuki , Bill M Velocette , Peter Honda, Greg H Honda and Ken W Kawasaki.
Werribee South and the Anglers Anchorage is a great place for lunch, plenty of parking out front for our bikes and plenty of seating for the hungry masses inside, out the front, or in the garden courtyard, all the time being able to see your bike.

After the extended lunch and heaps of discussion on various topics, most of them revolving around bikes, we departed. Taking “K” road past the Werribee golf course and cliffs which are next to the Werribee River, past the Werribee zoo and Mansion before hitting the freeway where individuals peeled off at different locations for home.
All in all quite an eventful Sunday, not exactly what we had planned but ended with a nice short ride.
I rang Janis and Rosa when I got home, he had been discharged from the Western General hospital where they were unable to find a reason for his episode, he is now feeling fine and we should see him on a club event very soon.
A very big thanks from Janis to all who helped on the day.
