April 2023
2nd : Classics Ride ; This will be a short ride to the Little River Hotel for lunch. Departing from Cafe Cerino around 10:30am we will once again avoid freeways, total distance will be approx 100km return. It is assumed that if your are coming on this ride you will be having lunch, if you are NOT, please let Sandy know classics@wmcc.org.au . this ride will suit both all riders, and as usual, all members are welcome to come along.

16th : Club Ride ; Newstead; We were going to Dig Cafe in Newstead but….. given the weather for Sunday (& Saturday) is looking pretty bad (10 to 30mm of rain) – the booking for the cafe has been cancelled. We will make a decision on the destination by those who attend.
21st to 23th : Non Club Event (although quite a few members do attend); ALL BRITISH RALLY (BSA Motorcycle Owners Association Inc.) http://bsa.asn.au/html/events/abr/index.html held at the Old Newstead Racecourse Reserve in central Victoria.

7th : Classics Ride ; Weather permitting, we are heading to Belgrave via Olinda to take in some of the best roads that are close to Melbourne. The round trip will be under 150km. Belgrave is situated in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, part of the land of the Wurundjeri first nations people.
21st : Club Ride ; Newstead; stay tuned for details.

18th : Club Ride ; Ride to Remember; Via Trentham stopping at Woodend at the Holgate Brewhouse for lunch. In memory of those who are no longer with us, we take the opportunity to reflect on the good times, memories and contributions they made to this great club.

2nd : Classics Ride ; CAR TORQUE – the regular get together on the FIRST SUNDAY of every Month at the Hobsons Bay Men’s Shed, 280 Queen St Altona.
4th : Annual General Meeting ; Starts earlier than usual at 7:00pm sharp, so make sure you have ordered dinner, got a drink and seated well beforehand.
16th : Club Ride ; Andrew will be taking us to Mount Macedon with lunch booked for 15 at the Mt.Macedon Hotel, if we have more, I’m sure they will be able to cater for us, if not…… there’s the Trading Post general store and Cafe just 50 meters down the hill.
weather??? Who knows…. The ride will be adjusted/tweaked…. If it turns poorly, being winter it’s always a lottery. So come along for what should be a great day out with a great bunch of our die-hard members, no-matter-what the weather throws at us. I’ll see you Sunday……

6th : Classics Ride ; Departure time is 10.30 am from Cafe Cerino.
- Destination is the Little River Pub for lunch. I have booked for 15
- The total return distance is approximately 100km.
- This is a relatively easy and straight forward ride that will suit all rider abilities, all members welcome.
The Little River has headwaters in the nearby Brisbane Ranges. It was also known as the Cocoroc Rivulet, Cocoroc being a locality near the area. Where the road from Melbourne to Geelong crossed Little River, the Travellers Rest Inn was opened there in about 1839.
20th : Club Ride ; To YEA, 112 kilometres north-east of Melbourne at the junction of the Goulburn Valley Highway and the Melba Highway, in the Shire of Murrindindi. We’ll head up through the Greensborough bypass then some secondary roads to Whittlesea, Flowerdale and on to Yea for lunch.

3rd : Classics Ride ; For those of you that can make it this Sunday (Fathers Day) the weather looks like its going to be a cracker for riding motorcycles, 20 degrees and blue skies. This ride will take us to westward to the town of Meredith. It will suit later model classics as the round trip will be approx. 240 km depending on what roads we tackle. We will be heading to the Rustic Ram Cafe for lunch. We will meet at Cafe Cirino in Williamstown at 9.30 for a 10 am departure. Arrive with a full fuel tank. All members welcome. .

17th : Club Ride ; To Bendigo. 162km north of Williamstown. The destination being the Black Swan Hotel for lunch at around 12:30pm. It is over a 2 hour ride so we will be leaving at 10am sharp.
Dr Dugal James purchased the historic McCrae Street property in 2018, with a vision to revive the long-appreciated late-night pub. A substantial renovation was undertaken to restore the property, refurbishing all the facilities and bar areas. James is one of Australia’s most significant collectors of Indian motorcycles, and key pieces of his collection have made it into the venue’s fit out. There is plenty of parking out the front for this popular motorcycle destination.

1st : Classics Ride ; We are heading to Belgrave via Olinda to take in some of the best roads that are close to Melbourne. The round trip will be under 150km. Lunch will be a “find a bakery or sandwich” so totally up to you.

15th : Club Ride ; Healesville & Yarra Valley, via Whittlesea and Kinglake west. There is many eateries in Healesville, we will most likely end up at the Beechworth Bakery where they can cater for us all without a booking.
22nd : Australian MotoGP; Activity yet to be formalized.

5th : Classics Ride ; Gisborne Vintage Machinery Society. Gisborne Steam Park, Webb Crescent, New Gisborne, Melway Ref: 658 D10
There is a 7 1/4 inch gauge miniature railway system, complete with station and train storage shed. Locomotives, carriages, rail system and buildings were all built by members. The Railway runs for the public every first Sunday of the month. They have a BBQ and can organize sausage in bread and drinks at very reasonable cost.

19th : Club Ride ; We have two ride destinations for you to choose from this month.
1: Italian Motorcycle Festival; Leaving at 9am from Cafe Cerino.
This is a short 30km ride to Preston, the festival hours are 9am to 1pm.
The Festival was always too good an event to fade for long. It is back on this year at Benzina Stables , 4-8 water Road, Preston in Preston. Three cheers Ducati Riders Melbourne who have taken the initiative on a new format.
2: Newstead; Leaving at 10am from Cafe Cerino. This ride will be approx: 155km to Newstead and the Dig Cafe, with a pick-up at the BP outbound at Rockbank. Select “TAB” to view details.
Although in the goldfields region, Newstead did not have much gold. It was a crossing place on the Loddon River for miners travelling to the Castlemaine and Mount Alexander diggings. In 1853 a hotel was built nearby and its name, Newstead, was adopted by the new township.
26th : Geelong Revival: Anyone wishing to attend this event and would like to join a ride to it on Sunday, be at Cafe Cirino for a 10am departure.

We normally run a short ride which finishes at the Christmas party venue, which will be at the Pirates Tavern Williamstown.
